Music notation
1. To introduce how Sony's Acid XPress works, all of the students will record themselves saying their first name.(You can use either XPress or Audacity to record their first names - experimentation is recommended beforehand!).
2. Students will then participate in creating a piece of music by "painting" layers of drum, guitar, bass, etc. tracks and mix in their names.
3. The song will be posted on our class blogs for comment and reflection.
Variations: For further practice, students could work with Acid Xpress in a similar fashion to create a song of science definitions.
