Task 7

Recording, Editing and Mixing Audio
Creating original music with software and recorded student performances

Before:  demonstrate how overdubbing is achieved.  For example, record yourself playing "Frere Jacques" on recorder on a couple of tracks.  Move each track over two bars to make it sound like a round.

1.  Use Acid Xpress to record students playing "Row, Row Your Boat" on kazoo in unision.

2.  Record a separate track of the students playing the same song but starting two bars later.

3.  Repeat the process for two more entries.  Create a new track for each new entry.

4.  Create a variety of original percussion loops by recording students playing on "found" percussion. (i.e. pots, pans, table tops, foot stomps)

5.  Mix according to the class' taste.

6.  Export as MP3 and upload to the class Zune, blog and podcast.
